When we meet businesses looking to learn more about Social Media, we’re often asked – which is the best option for our business? Social Media Training or Social Media Management?

The answer is always unique to each business – but there are some considerations that ALL businesses need to think about when considering the best option for themselves

Social Media Training
SOCIAL MEDIA TRAINING

* You are a solopreneur, that is the sole face of the business (or a team where the personnel put themselves forward as faces of the business)
* You have indepth technical knowledge that only you could know inside out
* You (and / or your team) have the time to spend at least 30 minutes a day on social media (at a time when your customers will be online)
* You love coming up with different ideas about how to market your business
* You have a passion for social media – but not the knowledge of how to make the most of it
* Your marketing budget is limited
* Your family understand work is important to you – they wouldn’t mind you picking the phone up in an evening / weekend to check social media
* You believe only you can portray your businesses voice

Social Media Management
SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT

* You are brand with multiple employees – there is not “one” face of the business
* You are a business that is easy to grasp the details and ethos of
* You don’t have the time to spend 30 minutes a day on social media (or not at a time when your customers will be online)
* You struggle with creative ideas – it’s not what you do and would take too long out of your day for thinking time
* You hate social media and doing it would be a chore even if you knew how to make the most out of it
* You see marketing as an investment that you are prepared to invest in long term if it works
* Your family time is important – nothing interrupts that and you couldn’t check social media during that important evening / weekend family time
* You believe in focusing on your strengths and outsourcing to professionals

CAN BOTH BE AN OPTION?
Yes, sometime businesses prefer to outsource in the early days of Social Media for 3 – 6 months so they can see results coming in and to look at the sort of communication that is posted

Then after an indepth training session which shows them exactly how to deliver the Social Media Campaigns they bring the Social Media Management back in house
