Prestige Floor Studio – Altrincham

Introduce your business and tell us what you’ve been up to recently?

We are Prestige Floor Studio, established in 2009 and growing our flooring business by attracting the lovely customers of Altrincham and surrounding areas. We have a large
showroom that specialises in all types of flooring and can offer a full design to installation service for all our customers.

What makes you different from other similar businesses in the area?

We differ from other companies by having exclusive products and large areas of the showroom dedicated to different types of flooring from leading manufacturers, including, Wood, Carpet, Luxury Vinyl and Natural Stone. We also now have an in-house interior design showroom where customers can get help and advice on the whole decor and not just the floor!

Looking back, which piece of advice would you give to somebody setting up their own business today?

If you have a desire to own your own business, then go for it! I think so many people will look back on their life and wish they had tried to go it alone but never actually carried it out. Having regrets later in life is not something that I want, to be able to look back and know that I gave it my best shot is good enough for me!

What part does Social Media play in your business?

We are relatively new at Twitter and Facebook, but we try and ensure that we post regularly with interesting recent installation pics or advice to grow the awareness of our business. This is an area which I’m sure will grow beyond all recognition in the coming years to the point where everyone uses Social Media without thinking about it.

And getting to know you and your Altrincham…

Where do you eat / take out in Altrincham? Which is your favourite pub or bar to drink at in Altrincham?

We like to eat in Cocos / Dilli’s / Phanthong / Francs and also not forgetting Pitta Crepe on Market Street for great food at lunchtime. Our favourite drinking establishment has to be the numerous Belgium Bars near Altrincham market. Lots of good options though and new places are constantly opening which can only be a positive thing for Altrincham in general.

Where is your essential must visit shop in Altrincham?

Essential must visit shop in Altrincham is surprisingly the Oxfam Bookshop, always a bargain to be had in there and most of the books are like brand new!

What’s been the most impressive new business you’ve seen open in Altrincham in the past 12 months

Have to say I have been impressed with Pitta Crepe. The idea is very easy, the quality is great and it goes to show that sometimes the simplest ideas are the best, especially if it includes Chicken Tikka in a Pitta!

In an ideal world What major improvement would you like to see happen in Altrincham?

I would like to see the smaller independent businesses have confidence again to open in Altrincham. As we all are too aware the banks and government are not really helping small businesses at the moment despite what the media tells you (!) and I’m a believer in a little confidence in the area will spread and gather momentum.

And if we want to look you up on Social Media what’s your facebook / twitter addresses?
