When we talk about having a great LinkedIn Profile is it really that important?
What difference does it make?
What is the ROI of a great LinkedIn Profile?
In our latest blog we look at those questions and really answer what are the advantages of having a great LinkedIn Profile
And remember just because LinkedIn says you have an all star profile doesn’t mean you actually have an all star profile – it simply means you’ve filled in the required sections
When we think of LinkedIn Profile we think of elements like
– Profile Photo
– Cover Photo
– Professional Headline
– LinkedIn Summary / About Section
– Experience
– LinkedIn Recommendations
Even if you have All-Star profile listed it could still mean you have a rubbish profile photo, an about section that turns people off and a number of connections that are never going to be customers or refer work to you
CREATE THE RIGHT 1ST IMPRESSION / LASTING IMPRESSION
Whatever your role in the company a 1st impression creates a lasting impression
The perception of your LinkedIn Photo and Profile gives people a perception, rightly or wrongly, about the way you do business
Your LinkedIn profile should be an extension of your personality and your professionalism
It’s not just whether the profile is slapdash – the language used can say a lot about your personality and whether it’s all about you or all about your customers
And for those that employ staff or have a team the question to ask yourself isn’t just whose LinkedIn Profile and activity is 100%, but also how your weakest link in the organisations profile looks. The 1st point of contact with your business could be with the person with the least professional profile
MORE CONFIDENCE
When you know your LinkedIn profile is on fire it gives you the confidence to take the next steps on LinkedIn – the putting yourself out there
Like anything with LinkedIn you get out of it what you put in and as well as having an all singing all dancing profile you have to turn up and be involved
The reality is you’re only going to do this if you have the confidence
If you think your LinkedIn About is a bit bobbins, you have no recommendations and your profile photo makes you cringe … are you really going to do things that draw attention to your profile
Confidence is attractive – give yourself that confidence to turn up every day and be bold
MORE AWARENESS
2 stats to think about
* People who have an All-Star rating “are 40 times more likely to receive opportunities through LinkedIn.”
* Only 51% of members have a completed profile
I’m going give a caveat here and listen carefully
Just because LinkedIn says you have an all-star profile doesn’t mean you actually have an all-star profile – it simply means you’ve filled in the required sections
Even if you have All-Star profile listed it could still mean you have a rubbish profile photo, an about section that turns people off and a number of connections that are never going to be customers or refer work to you
But if you genuinely have a great LinkedIn profile you will have more awareness
MORE REFERRALS
When I refer work to people on LinkedIn it says a lot about me
How can I recommend a profile that shouts “amateur” from the rooftops
Even if you’re the best in your industry it’s harder to refer work to people who
– Don’t log onto LinkedIn daily
– Don’t have a profile that gives of a positive perception
Every time you refer work to someone it’s your reputation on the line
Make it easy to refer work to people
MORE SALES
I’ve saved the obvious one for the end
Great LinkedIn Profiles + Great LinkedIn Content = More Sales
As simple as that
If your profile looks great, has great testimonials and great content that resonates with your ideal client then you win
That idea isn’t rocket science, but getting your profile perfect requires a little outside help from experienced specialists
