TripAdvisor have announced the annual Certificate Of Excellence Awards and the number of excellent eateries in Altrincham has doubled in the last 12 months with a whopping 27 Restaurants / Cafes / Pubs winning Certificate of Excellence Awards for 2016
The Certificate of Excellence accounts for the quality, quantity and recency of reviews submitted by travellers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
With a flurry of award nominations, column inches in the press and 6000 visitors a week, Altrincham Market have received their 1st TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and are riding high in the “Things To Do In Altrincham” section of TripAdvisor. Market House Altrincham relaunching as a fashionable eatery in September 2014 has become a place to be spotted and only Dunham Hall and Runway Visitor Park rank higher than this relative new entrant on TripAdvisor
Other notable new entrants on the Excellence list include Nourish, Pix Pizza and much loved return of Rhode Island Coffee to Altrincham
And making up the rest of the list are some institutions of Altrincham including Yara, Phanthong, Cocos, Essence and Altrincham Fish Bar
Amin Rahman from Essence says “TripAdvisor works really well for us particularly with business travellers and tourists in the area. if you’re staying in Altrincham for the week you look for an independent guide of where to eat and TripAdvisor does that well. We regularly have diners who have walked to the restaurant from nearby hotels after reading our reviews on TripAdvisor and comparing them to other indian restaurants. Once they’ve visited, they always come back each time they stay in Altrincham”
Phanthong again received 2 Certificates for both the Altrincham and Wilmslow Restaurants, Phann Whyte is clear on what it signifies
“This certificate of excellence for both our Altrincham and Wilmslow restaurants is really satisfying as it tells us that our customers think we are doing the right things. But that made us think; What are we doing right? After a quick brainstorm we figured that it is a combination of things:
1.) Having some of the best staff of any restaurant and ensuring that they are happy – The majority of reviews extol the excellence of their service.
2.) Keeping our prices keen despite cutting no corners on food quality or presentation, we have always strived for exceptional value for money.
3.) Fantastic local customer support – their feedback, direct and via TripAdvisor, ensures that we keep our standards up.”
Long established restaurant Cocos has again received an award. Jane Eaton adds “We are delighted to receive this award for the 4th year running, a huge thank you to all our wonderful customers who take the time to write reviews, from our team here at cocos Italian”
Social Media Marketing expert Alex McCann of Altrincham HQ works with restaurants across Altrincham and the North West believes TripAdvisor is critical for foodie businesses”As consumers we’re looking for social proof and validation for the restaurant choices that we make. Long has TripAdvisor been the place that people look for hotel and restaurants abroad, but when deciding on a local night out it’s often TripAdvisor that is referred back to when a group of friends throw around restaurant suggestions.
It’s worth also remembering Altrincham is a town that many tourists stay over for large sporting, music and business events and therefore TripAdvisor is a place that people look to when choosing where to eat. If the reviews don’t meet expectations a potential diner may not even look as far as the menu
If you look at the local restaurants that are doing well they’re often the ones with a joint up review and Social Media strategy – reviews + social media engagement and amplification are clear winners”
